Missing our little boy

Things have been very quite and lonely around our home since Arturs left for Latvia. All of us are missing him. How can you fall in love with someone in such a short time...our family is so sad. We are not sure what God's plans are for us concerning Arturs, but we do know that he will always be a part of our family. We are praying about what God wants us to do...

Arturs leaves for Latvia...

Wow, I cannot believe that 5 weeks have gone by so quickly. We have been so busy, between the holidays and doing things with Arturs and Maddox time has gone by so fast. Arturs left for Latvia today. Ronnie, Jessi, Maddox and myself took him to the airport. It was a very hard and sad time for all. We are not sure if we will ever see him again but we do know that our lives are forever changed because of him!!!

Arturs arrives!

Today we picked up Arturs at the airport. It was a crazy day!!! We are so excited and a little nervous all at the same time. But I realize that our feelings cannot compare to what Arturs must be feeling. He had been traveling for over 20 hours and was absolutely exhausted when we first saw him. He fell asleep in the car as soon as we left the airport.

Hosting?

In the fall of 2007 Ronnie and I learned of a Christian Hosting program, New Horizons for Children. Through this program children who are in orphanges in Russia and Latvia are able to come and spend time with an American family. We were considering doing this in the summer of 2008. Little did we know that God had a different plan.
In November 2007, 2 weeks before the Children who were being hosting during the Christmas time we learn of a 15 year old boy from Latvia who had been mixed up with another child. He had been told he was coming and a plane ticket had been purchased for him but they had no hosting family for him. Ronnie and I discussed the possibliltiy of hosting him. After praying about it we called to see if he was still available and found out that he was. So with 2 weeks to prepare we start this wonderful journey God has planned for us.
