Who is teaching who? and what?

Meeting with Kelly

We finally feel like we are getting somewhere. We have had our 2nd meeting with Kelly (the lady who is doing our Home Study) and have filed our I600A. I had no idea of all of the paperwork that was involved. Ronnie, Mark & I have been fingerprinted, had our background checked (GBI, FBI and waiting on Homeland Security appointment), had physicals, employment checks, done a financial statement among many other things. All of this is just part of the Home Study. Wow...

I am able to keep in touch somewhat with Arturs via email. Here are some of his emails:

Each email fills my heart with joy and I so want to tell him we are trying so very hard to get him back here with us, but I also know that there are way to many things that can happen. For that reason we have decided not to say anything to him about us adopting him until we know that we have been approved and are on our way to Latvia.

God is in control!

Things are going very slow with the Home Study process. Not because of anything they are not doing but because of this crazy time in our life. Due to the fact that the economy is not doing so well right now, Ronnie has decided it is time to give up on the cabinet shop. If people are not buying new homes, then builders are not building. If they are not building they do not need any cabinets...Ronnie has taken a job with E R Snell. This is going to be a huge adjustment for all of us. But we know that God is in control and that we must trust Him. We will proceed with the Home Study as we can...of course the money is a huge issue at this point. We know that if this is God's will then he will provide!

What direction do we take?

We found out today that Arturs is free for adoption and that he would like to be adopted into our family. We have prayed through it and feel that adoption is what God wants us to do. We will begin our Home Study and go from there. We are totally depending on God to help us with this. A few months ago we did not even know where Latvia was and now we are adopting a child from there!!! God is so amazing!!!
